Beijing Street Foods
Wangfujing Street
One way that I always love to explore a city is through the foods sold on it’s streets. No matter if your in the Capital of the People’s Republic of China or Bangkok, Thailand one can be assured of sensory overload on the sights, smells and tastes you will encounter.
Wangfujing is the food street most known in Beijing, although you do not need to visit these streets to find food sold on the streets through out Asia.
Commonly found in Asia are various flavors of a sort of meatball. These flavored balls are used in noodle dishes, breaded or served in a flavored broth with additional condiments to place in them.
You always can find various foods on sticks simply for the ease of eating while walking around.
In Asia you may find foods on a stick that in other parts of the world you would hit or kill them with a stick.
We opted for the fried spiral potatoes on a stick with a bit of ketchup.
Another popular snack found in most of Asia are steamed buns filled with various fillings. You can find these warm soft buns filled with chicken, BBQ pork and even a sweet custard to name a few.
various wooden masks for sale
Of course with most food streets there are always non food items for sale and to look at in between your snacks
I just had to buy this little pig too use as a paper weight in my office at home
My love of street food and experiencing unique items to eat only continue to grow as i visit large cities or small towns. Food is one thing that bring people together.
They say that there are two types of people... Those who eat to live or those who live to eat..... I surely LIVE TO EAT....
